The Penticton Farmers’ Market is a non-profit society whose purpose is to conduct “ a market in the City of Penticton at which small scale agricultural producers and craftspeople may offer their wares directly to the public.
From it’s small beginning in Gyro Park in 1991 The Penticton Farmers’ Market has grown into one of the most vibrant and successful farm to city food micro-systems in the country.
Members are smallscale farmers and home crafters who have been accepted on a probationary or “casual” basis for one year before being considered for full membership in the Penticton Farmers’ Market. Presently, The Penticton Farmers’ Market is limited to 60 members.
If you “ Grow it, Bake it or Make It” you might qualify for a stall at The Penticton Farmers’ Market.
A small percentage of local craft people are also considered for casual and permanent membership.
The Penticton Farmers’ Market has been especially grateful for the support of the City of Penticton and is pleased to be a valued amenity to the tourism industry in the South Okanagan.
Bringing public support to local food self-reliance is a role of farmers’ markets everywhere and The Penticton Farmers’ Market is pleased to be working with its customers in this good work.
